Even without braking, when you let go of the accelerator the vehicle's speed immediately begins decreasing because of the frictional drag and within a few seconds you are coming to a slow.  What's also great, is that when stopped, you don't have to hold the bike up; the bottom ski and tread is flat and wide so the bike holds itself up so you can put your feet up.
